Hummus: Easy and Delicious

Are you a hummus fan like so many people are? Do you go through tub after tub, trying to find the right combination of deliciousness? We’ve got you covered, and it’s super easy to make! Try this simple recipe for a tasty dip or spread that you will thoroughly enjoy. Test out different combinations of spices, as well. You might even think it’s better than store bought. Enjoy!


  • 5 cups cooked (drained) chickpeas or 1 can drained chickpeas (canned chickpeas taste great and save a lot of time)
  • 1/4 cup extra-virgin olive oil
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • Salt and ground black pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon ground cumin or paprika (use it to garnish, too)
  • ¼ cup of fresh lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons of water

Drain the chickpeas.  Combine all ingredients in a food processor and blend until smooth. Give it a taste. Add more garlic, salt, or pepper if you think it needs it. Have fun with it! Store hummus in a closed container for up to a week. Serve with a drizzle of olive oil, a sprinkle of paprika or turmeric, and chopped parsley on top.
