Overnight Oat Breakfast Recipes the Whole Family Will Love

Overnight oats is one of the easiest and most nutritious recipes. Preparing the meal only takes minutes and the real work is done overnight while you’re asleep. If busy mornings are part of your family’s agenda, then overnight oats can make life a little bit easier.

With a few wholesome ingredients and a simple, no cooking recipe, overnight oats serve up a meal that the whole family will love. Plus, this recipe requires no cooking, giving you more quality time around the breakfast table. 

Creating your own overnight oats recipe can spark some creativity in your kitchen. While the milk, chia seeds and oats ratio should not be compromised, feel free to play with the ingredients and add your family’s favorite flavors. For example, instead of a peanut butter and banana recipe, switch it up with almond butter, cinnamon and green apples.

Ingredients:

  • ½ cup milk of your choice (can be dairy or non-dairy)
  • 1 tbsp chia seeds
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup
  • 2 tbsp peanut butter, or any preferred nut butter
  • ½ cup rolled oats
  • Optional toppings: bananas and strawberries, sliced

Instructions:

  1. In a mason jar, add milk, chia seeds and maple syrup. Stir with a spoon until combined.
  2. Add peanut butter and stir lightly, leaving chunks of peanut butter in the mason jar.
  3. Add oats and stir. Make sure oats are fully submerged in almond milk by pushing contents down with a spoon.
  4. Secure tightly with a lid and place in the refrigerator overnight.
  5. When ready to eat, top off the oats with sliced bananas and strawberries. If you prefer your oats heated, simply place them in the microwave for 30 seconds, or reheat on the stove over medium-low heat prior to adding toppings.

Store your ready-to-eat overnight oats in the fridge for 2-3 days.
